Hi guys..I am starting to look through some of my old world stamps, got a couple hundred prior 1900, but age does not necessarily mean anything...Any ways, can some one help me with this stamp...This stamp looks a lot like my Newfoundland Scott 1 stamp..Same sort of design , ink and ink bleeding which makes me think it is from around the same time span...Around 1857...?

Robert

Newfoundland Scott 1 - 1857

There is a discussion of Danish classics on this site where they are talking about the same series of stamps but different values.

Wert,

I may be missing something but if am reading Scott correctly, this appears to be Denmark Scott #4 (4s Brown). Yours appears to have Dots in background vs lines which would make it Scott # 7).

Hope this helps.

It is Denmark Scott 4 (1854 issue with dots in corners).

Why both stamps on scanned images have such a reddish hue, I don't know. Probably the scanner needs to be calibrated.

Wert,

My input above may have been phrased incorrectly, I agree with Tvorog. Scott #4. (Not 7).
