Newspaper Wrapper.
#ec36 (I think)

That is a super "Printed matter" hooded Pmk.
I don't believe I have ever seen another like it.

If any members have a nice image of that Pmk. please post.

Hi,

I believe the postmark is a Liverpool one. This post office was number 466.

I had a look on the Philatelicweb.com postmark database for Liverpool 466 and while I didn't find one exactly like this I found a similar one:

Great info! Thank you. Does anyone have a value for a ec36? I only have a Scott Standard catalogue. Thanks again.

Thanks Nigel, didn't occur to me to visit the database, great idea.

Not I, (if indeed that is the hiscocks / barefoot number)
Be aware yours is a mutilated stationery piece, and is one of the most common "cut squares" commands very little monetary value.

I don't know where the ec36 number comes from. There are number of catalogues that include British postal stationery but these use different numbers.

However, I don't know of any catalogues for British postal stationery cut-outs / cut squares. There is little interest in them unless the stamps are scarce.

Most of the complete wrappers are quite common. For example, the most likely wrapper for this stamp is priced used at two pounds in Collect British Postal Stationery (2007).

This scan of an old catalog page shows that the cut-outs were once cataloged and priced. The notes state that the prices are for copies used on an entire cover, or "on a portion of same" I cannot think of any modern catalog that lists these cut-outs. Most refer to a whole wrapper.

The only catalogue I now that still lists any cut-outs is Scott which lists cut squares from US envelopes and wrappers using you and W catalogue numbers.

Nice, Scot.

Western Australia. Robin Linke Stamp Dealer prices his Australian cut squares.
