I recently received copies of the K.B. Spezial Katalog für Zeppelinpost der ganzen Welt (Catalog of Worldwide Zeppelin Post), and I thought I've drop a note her to recommend them to any Zeppelin Post collectors out there. They are written (in German) by Klaus Brodowski, and are published by B&W Briefmarken.

The catalog currently consists of two volumes, with Band I covering 1900-1931, and Band II covering 1932-1935.

The catalogs are hardcover and pretty substantial in size (A4 sized, about 1.5" thick each).

Included within are descriptions of all flights, including details on the volumes of mail carried, as well as hundreds of full-color photos of covers from the flights, postal markings, etc.

You can see several sample pages at the B&W website, but here's one just for show.

Retail price is €89 for each volume (€80/each if a member of the Zeppelin study group).

I should also note that I have no affiliation with the publishers, and I'm not receiving anything for recommending the books. I just found them to be awesome.

Postmaster:

How long did it take for the books to arrive after you placed your order? I am assuming you live in the US.

Neeskens, if your package comes straight to your door it will take about a week. If for some reason it is inspected by Homeland Security it may take at least three weeks.

The only shipment option was for surface mail so I'm sure it will take longer. I placed my order on Feb. 27.

Received my order on March 23. Unfortunately, the binding on one of the volumes looks a little worse for wear after its transatlantic journey. However, I'm thrilled to have them. They are packed with great illustrations and information on flights, postmarks, etc.

Thank you to Postmaster GS for the recommendation!
