Why do different websites place different values on the same stamp?

I have checked many websites concerning my Korean collection and have found that none of them agree on the stamp value.

also, why do not the same websites list all of the stamps and their values? I have found that all of the websites list very few stamps and even fewer of the ones I have.

If they are rare, why is no one interested in buying them?

Someone said here that North Korean stamps are a rare treat, so why hasn't my thread garnered more interest?

Well, not everyone is interested in North Korean stamps, despite someone saying something.

List your stamps on ebay, price them as you wish, and see if your wishes can be realized. If not, lower your prices.

Stamp value is in the eye of beholder; in other words, it's a jungle out there.

Information on North Korea is scarce let alone its stamps & if the catalogue publishers don't have complete details then they can't publish them. Prices are figured out by what's happening in the market. If a certain value or set is freely & commonly available then it's price will be lower than something that doesn't show up that often.

This theory hits a snag when trading a product is declared illegal as in the case of ebay & the U.S.

The reason the stamps are a rare treat is that they are not allowed to sell on ebay. So not readily seen in the U.S. As they are not that available collector interest not as strong (yet?) Also short sets are a tough sell.

Also it is the early No. Korea stamps that are the big deal. These are heavily invested in when found by a few people such as Jim Rogers a big time billionaire stock investor. The newer stamps were printed in large numbers for revenue generating purposes.

I have now learned even the early issued stamps were looted in the Korean War and brought back to the U.S. in large quantities. Investors like Jim Rogers are waiting for North Korea to fall and then worth big money. Speculation more than investment for now.

Supply and "Demand"

Archaeologist: If you want people become interested on your North Korean stamps thread, so they may want to buy them from you (which seems to be your main interest!), I would advise to do 2 things:

.- First, take your time and upload proper scanned images of the stamps. Not those horrible phone pictures.
.- Second, take your time on writing something on those stamps. background, reason for isue, and the like.

They say. "No pain, no gain". If you want to make some money from those stamps, you should put some work on that. Just for "being rares" it doesn't make them attractives.

As for me, I'm a stamp and cinderella lover. So, I won't waste a single penny on your items. But, some people, might like them...Who knows?

anyone who edits my posts and removes 30 of them do not deserve nor get my membership. For some reason I could not log in under my original name even though I had been honest and tried to follow all the rules to the point of asking for clarification. if that is an example of how you treat people then I am out of here. Please remove the photos of my stamps and if you do not like the quality of my photos then send me the money to have them done the way you want.

I've read through the replies to your posts and they were ALL courteous, without exception.

One very worthwhile suggestion that you present clear pictures (a must if you really plan on selling your stamps) from a respected member, and you blow your fuse?

I don't know why you can't log in under your original username, but setting up a duplicate username is a BIG NO-NO at any forum. You need to contact administration if you are having trouble signing in.

You actually came here immediately requesting that you be exempt from our most basic selling rule. Here is your introduction post:

I only came here to sell my North & South Korean Stamp Collection but I do not have the time to do 50 posts. Is there an alternative route to this?

I do have photos if we can make an exception here. After living in South Korea for 14 years I need to get rid of the collection, most date to the 70s and 80s

Thank you

You were very forthcoming in your first post, but to now claim that you tried to follow all the rules is disingenuous when you came in with the intent of asking to be allowed to violate the rules.

I see no basis for any valid complaint from you toward the admin/staff here.

Join in the conversation, sit a spell, learn a little about stamps, teach us a little about stamps... let's get to know each other first. If you want to buy/sell to complete strangers, you really need to use the numerous other auction websites.
