Hi Rod,

If you'll allow a Scot to help...

I believe the parcel postmark is "CALNE / WILTN." for Calne in Wiltshire.

Indeed, thank you Nigel,
I was oblivious to my faux pas, I shall be more aware next time

Care to suggest the Army Official catalogue value please?
Mine is grungy, but a fine used is £100 ?
That correct?

£100???

The SG catalogue for 2017 gives the O48 a value of £2.25 for a used copy. Are you looking at a column for 'on cover' perhaps?

Hi Rod,

In my 2013 SG Part 1, the used on cover price is £100 but the used price is £2.25.

I attempted to look it up on the British Database, and could not find just one letter for code, "W" for penny red, 1864. Wasn't sure if it is from London or another area.

Hi Lioness,
sorry, unable to locate in my Database.

I am a novice, but I would have thought a London District "killer" duplex.
W= West London

All I have in "W" are............

West London
W1 the West End: Mayfair, Soho, south Marylebone
W2 Paddington, Bayswater, Hyde Park
W3 Acton
W4 Chiswick
W5 Ealing
W6 Hammersmith
W7 Hanwell
W8 Kensington central Kensington
W9 Maida Vale Warwick Avenue, Maida Hill
W10 North Kensington Ladbroke Grove
W11 Notting Hill Holland Park
W12 Shepherd's Bush
W13 West Ealing
W14 West Kensington

Hopefully Nigel will respond, if not I'll chase it up on the Pmk database of Allan's.
