Normally Allan will pick up from here.
He is not answering emails, so maybe on holiday.

Thanks iS
Hmmm....too hard to call.
Opinion:
Front looks like typical "dog ear" damage, from poor handling on cover.
Back does not support that with any conceivable damage.
GB specialists need to reply, if it was any sort of plate damage that extreme,
it would be very well known.
Good Luck.

PS: I see you own a UV light, any information under that?

The database is still being updated with a number of revisions to the data being made in the way of date extensions, codes, scans added etc ...

A great number of new entries have also been added with there now being over 17,900 British entries ...

I still have a great number of items on file to check and add or amend the details as required and these will be tackled as I get free time ...

Thanks to everyone for details that have added to the details on site

Another nice addition to the Postmark database today

In addition to a lot of additions and updates to the GB section, there has also been some additions to Canada, Australia and USA as well as some more of the GB special marks, mainly in the way of war censor markings.

The database now has over 18,000 British postmarks listed with over 15,580 illustrated - (over 86 percent)

More still to check and enter / update ....

Happy New Year to everyone ...

I am at this time adding a number of (mainly) Army / Field Post Office marks.
In addition the related censor marks are being added to the special marks section which should as it develops aid in narrowing down locations / use on some war period items ...

Still working away ... now with over 18,100 British Postmarks and over 15,600 illustrated

In addition to all this new information, a great number of updates have also been added that expand the date ranges for periods of use as well as codes used etc - and in a few cases a better scan has been added to replace those that were in use before ....

Still much more to be checked and updated / added etc ... so work continues

Allan
