I ordered a group of these from USPS when they first came out. The post office sent that first batch of five in a mylar envelope and they were unsuitable for collecting when I received them. All five were badly misregistered in that group. I returned them, asking the replacements be sent in a manner which would sufficiently protect them and the USPS sent the next five in a very heavy board priority mail container. These were all misregistered just as the first batch had been. Has anyone received some which were not misregistered?

I have no experience with this issue. I just chimed in to say don't be surprised if there was a smart aleck at Stamp Fulfillment Services who just put the same ones back in a new package and sent them right back to you. |

Ones I got were the same "misregistered" as yours. Maybe the misregister is the normal for these items. |

I am just wondering - where do you get these preprinted envelopes. I have never seen them and asking at our post office produced zero. The did not even know about the two latest stamps, let alone the envelope shown above.

http://about.usps.com/postal-bullet...nfo2_002.htmMany of these specialty items have to be ordered by phoning the USPS fulfillment center. The item number for this envelope (single) is 232700 and I don't see it in the online store. Linn's publishes announcements of USPS item numbers in its "2017 US Stamp Program" column. Chris |

could someone please define 'mis-registered' as used in this post. I purchase the FDC item and find that the indicia is placed on the flap upside-down so that when sealed it appears on the address side right-side up. Mint envelopes (sold only in packages of 5) would be showing the indicia on the unfolded flap as upside down. Am I mis-reading the post or not seeing the issue in the posted picture?? |

I should add, in reply to Peter's comment, this item and ones like it probably never will appear at post offices for retail sale. Sales volume would not justify the distribution cost. It appears intended for high-volume commercial mailers who want the appearance of a stamp on the envelope to increase the likelihood that the piece is opened, without having to affix anything. Political parties, higher-end retailers, and airlines sending to million-milers all come to mind as customers. Not individuals at post offices.

Look at the orange base outline. It only appears on 3 sides of the pattern. One would assume it would be centered. |

I have seen Priority Mail envelopes in packages of 5 for sale at my local Staples (but not recently).

Just got off the phone to the USPS Philatelic Sales. FYI the numbers for the packets of the new Priority Envelopes (single listed elsewhere in this post) are:
package of 5 (232705) Cost $33.25 package of 10 (232710) Cost $66.50 package of 25 (232725) Cost $166.26
all pluss handling charge.
Go get em...... |

Stampman2002: If you go over to my post on another thread at https://goscf.com/t/36613&whichpage=40you will see the stamp is misregistered on different sides than yours, but it looks like it actually does cover or expose all for sides with the orange base (if that is what we are talking about here). What you think? |

Here's a clear image of the imprint on the envelope. This really shows how off the different color registrations are on the envelope. Comparing this image to the one posted on another thread by PoStat4evr makes me believe the other image is more lined up. While the orange in this image is off center, it appears the green and red are more skewed, causing the resulting blurring. Thoughts? |

I guess I hadn't noticed how far off yours was on registration. Maybe all we are truly looking at is sloppy print job on all of them. I have some more coming, will let you know what they look like when I get them. Hopefully someone gets a nice copy. Since the only place one seems to be able to get these is from the Fulfillment Center in the salt bin, it would certainly be a hit and miss venture when ordering. |

Stampman, if you are a member of the APS, the latest issue ( march 2017 ) has a picture of the envelope stamp in it. Look on page 281.

Just received another 5 from Kansas City. All of the registrations are slightly different.The centering on these varies (yellow, orange, dot pattern, etc.) When you order from the PO direct, they come with prestamped tracking stickers (just sayin') Here is one that looks good at a distance..... |
