Hello Rod, Nice to see Belgium,i like their stamps, I only have to go 20 kilometers to the south and I am in Belgium. I took at look at the Railway/service stamps in the Belgian catalogue and it shows that used examples are not at all expensive. Financially it would not make a lot of sense to forge used ones. But maybe I am wrong and somebody else can tell us a bit about forgeries of these series used. Kind regards Johan. When I have time I will post a few pictures of Belgium covers tomorrow. |

Thank you Perf12. Those pages do not address my particular page posted, just the bare winged wheel. nonetheless, they are fabulous links for other issues. Links saved

A few covers: First a 1915 le Havre cover with Red Cross stamps. Most of these covers are Philatelistic, not difficult to find, but prices are all over the place. Ranging from 5 US dollar to 20+ US Dollar. So shop around. Next a bit of overkill, a 5 franc 1939 stamp used on a cover to the Netherlands. But I am still happy to have it. A cover with on the right 2 pairs from booklets. |

rod222: Here is the authentic and forgery overprint below. In the authentic overprint has the following characteristics: 1)The wing edge should be incurved. 2)The wheel is double on the outside. 3 The outer line of the triangle is almost straight. 4)the bottom line of the wheel is flat. Authentic overprint: Forged overprint: |

Using Perf12 advice. I make the first 2 genuine, last 2 "dodgy" 1. Genuine opts appear crisp and clear, outer line of wheel, "bends in" top and bottom. 2. Others may be "over inked" but they are dodgy in my opinion, and have them as forged. (The wheel seems more "flatter" or turned towards the observer in the forgeries) Interested members can download the images and "toggle" between, to make their own opinion. |

Hello Johan, lovely covers, thanks for sharing. Not seen your booklet pairs before. They are new ones for me. I find them very attractive, I have tried to get an image of the "SARIBO" stamp album, without success............ Here are a few of my booklet tabs / labels. The green tab........Halley's Comet ? |
