Loving this Rod, I just acquired some new stamps and I have quite a bit from Belgium that I will be organizing today :) I see a few of mine in your pages. Nora.

Hang on to what you have Steve.

Sold...and it's gone forever.

I saw the Belgian Railroads catalogue avail the other day, at a reasonable price from John Barefoot .

Nice to have a postmark recalling one of the world's great beers in Chimay.

Lost on me Geoff, being a teetotal, update me, if you spot one for a great Cheese...

Re-reading this it occurred to me as a fan of both that postmarks of both cheeses and beers (or at least the home towns of the breweries) must be possible to collect - there must be Cheddar and Stilton, I'm sure I've seen Pilsen on Czech and Austrian stamps, closer to me here Ilkley and Saltaire surely exist?

I wonder if Brie and Camembert are places........ I can feel a google search coming on

Crispin - happy New Year. This is the charming lady you need to meet - the keeper of the cheese trolley at the Brasserie du Casino in Vichy (not my photo). Sadly, we were too stuffed to dive into the trolley

Hi, I found what I believe to be an 1894 Scott #76 arms of antwerp, but doesn't seem right. Missing a talon? And the bottom based on online catalog I found would not have the 9 rose connected "circles" with the little green balls. Wouldn't that part be holed or gone since there is no Talon? Am I missing something?

..or, the perforation pins shifted down a bit.

"Talon" is a Mexican Revenue descriptor, the "tag" on these issues was to indicate whether the postal article was "Not to be posted on Sunday" or otherwise, by leaving or removing the little label.

The vignette shows the "Hands of Justice" Sc#78

Thanks, Rod. I should clarify that it's the duplicates, and some originals, of my secondary specialties that are boxed away. For the main specialties, I've got more Portugal & colonies, Poland, and Mexico still out to be worked on than I can almost comprehend.

Hi Geoff

Happy New Year to you to and the same to everyone who meets here on SCF. Whatever shenanigans are going on in the wider world it's a comfort to be able to come here for a dose of normality.

Knowing the cheese board was like that, I might have held back on the previous courses! There's a place near us here that sells the most incredible cheeses, you can go and buy over the counter or have them sent to you. It's almost impossible to resist as our expanding waistlines testify!
