It is really difficult to determine the color of stamp from a picture on a computer. Your first stamp looks dark and it could be Darkgreybrown(c color in Michel) or blackgreybrown(D color in Michel. I will show a picture from the Darkgreybrown color(c color in Michel), but please remember the color shown by me, can already look different on any computer as a result of the setting of your computer.

Same, your stamp is much too light. Here is the stamp (Michel #254d).

Here's a comparison of all four colors, expertized, side-by-side.

It's hard to tell from a scan, but I'd guess yours are probably a MiNr 254 c (first one) and MiNr 254 a (second one).

As the last 2 posts show, it is impossible to determine stamp colors from computer scans. My 254d really is as dark as it appears, and it is very different from PostmasterGS's 254d.

The color ranges for early Germany make positive identification of some stamps difficult or impossible for knowledgeable collectors.

Colors can be sorted if you have them in front of you but a scan looses some of the shades finer differences .
