Hi; A little refreshing on the forgeries of Isabella Edifil no.9 1851 Cinco Reales.Although we can find numerous small differences between
the originals and forgeries;also reprints ,I find one of the most conclusive tests is the curve in the hair band which is always well defined even in the other values. When sellers offer these stamps for sale they can be very tricky; especially the sperati forgery. As with some of Sperati's South American forgeries ,his Spanish early issues where quiet well done.Below a stamp of mine (certified) and other forgeries I gathered on the net.

Notice the curve in the band going NE.

Sperati Forgery; band is almost straight.(sold as forgery by Iberphil)

Forgery;also notice the heavy line below the eye.(too much eye liner)!

forgery (Sold as Forgery on E bay)

Thank you for posting this. It's always nice to have another way to identify these. I think many people are a bit scared to buy early Soanish stamps because of all the forgeries.
