Hi again, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if theses stamps are from India. I'm not 100% per cent convinced they are but look to be Asian. Thank you very much. Debra. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I googled "taksena marka". According to the results, this appears to be Serbian for "tax stamp". Added: There are numerous images on the web of stamps similar to the ones shown. Due to the time frame (1930s) and currency (dinar), I would guess maybe Yugoslavia. But that's just a guess. They would appear to be some sort of tax or revenue stamps. |

Debra, If you are within the time frame, consider changing your thread title to something like "Yugoslavia Revenues" or similar, to assist students of the discipline and searching. Cheers.

Drazen's website (listed above - ephila-stamps.com) is a great site. Although far from complete, he has tons of useful information. I visit his site on a regular basis. Like me, most of what he has listed is what he has in his collection. I have not yet begun to jump into the revenues of Yugoslavia, but I have done some serious gathering of various cinderellas, obligatory tax stamps, and other non-postal items from Yugoslavia. I am gradually adding them to my website http://yugostamps.com |

On a related note, does anyone know where to get a copy of the Z Safar "Katalog postanskih maraka Srbije" that came out in 2011? I have been trying to source a copy but not having any luck on the internet finding it. |

Just a tip: anything with a double-headed eagle on it is going to be in eastern Europe. If anyone knows of other instances, please correct me. |

Probably quibbling/semantics, but some stamps from the Austrian Empire have double-headed eagles, jimjamtwo. (I know that much of that empire was in Eastern Europe/ the Balkans, but some of it was in Central Europe.) |
