Quote:That's a shame. I'd assumed that there would be a US stockist selling on US Amazon or US ebay. Maury's catalogues are lovely things, filled with images of stamps that I'll never own, but enjoy looking at. I agree Geoff. What I've seen/heard about the Maury has been nothing short of fantastic, and it's been on my list for a couple of years. I have been relying on my 2010 Y&T, which I had purchased new for something like US$20. You can always find someone who sells many of the "foreign" catalogs new here, but as they usually cater to specialists, they aren't cheap. I do purchase an above average amount of philatelic references, but the costs are such that I pretty much have to wait until I find a heavily discounted price. Every once in a while, someone here in the US will sell some imported catalogs for a total price very close to or even below discounted prices in the home country of publication. Then I'll snap it up. Otherwise I end up buying a used older edition. Sometimes someone overseas (not necessarily a stamp dealer) will be clearing out a stock they acquired at a great price (and yes, they discount the overseas shipping -- sometimes even free)! US$20 for a 2016 Maury definitely meets my "cheapskate" price! Quote: you can convert the Kindle book to PDF for free online Thanks for pointing that out area66! I was wondering if one was available and hadn't gotten around to searching. You've saved me a lot of hunting. I'll look into it! |

The Maury "Timbres de France" catalogue is now published by Spink, the London-based dealer and auctioneer.
The 2017 edition is hardback and is priced at £24.90.

Thanks, Nigel! At the Spinks website, it's £22.50, and they toss in a free La Collection La Fayette by Chauvin (£30 value)! That's an amazing price for a quality catalog that is 1000+ pages hardback.
However, they have a bug on their website and they are charging me £0 for both books! And unfortunately, shipping is £20 to the US! I got as far as the confirmation page with a total charge of £20. Of course £20 for both books is a great deal, but I don't to take advantage of the bug in their software. |

I'm sure they'd catch the problem, but I didn't confirm the order. The correct cost of the book with shipping is a bit too steep compared to getting the 2016 Kindle version. |

Well, I tried to email them to let them know of the shopping cart bug, but apparently the email address on their contact page is wrong. Quite surprised such a large established operation would have so many basic website problems. |

I don't think it's a bug ; on Spink, you can but other books in the basket and it work, the problem is related to the The Maury, they probably just forget to enter something |

Nice Edw_kim! The key to both sets is the 10fr of the Supplemental Issue. I also just realized I had the 10cm and 10fr stamps interchanged on my album page. Guess I'm getting older much faster than I thought! |

I just check, and I don't have the 10F of 1944, I checked on ebay and as usual I end purchasing a full set. Anyway MNH at $ 8 , I don't think it's a bad deal Ed don't take it bad, my comment was like a question, first thing that jump on my eyes was the page with the edge cut |

Quote: anyways my entire set is "on a scott page" mint - hinged 1945.see page image..just for gp.. Ed , what Scott album is that, with Scott numbers, I guess a US speciality . National.... But I don't think they have France occuation stamps in it ...?????? EDIT : what an epic fail, I'm getting old, the BB ( international) do list scott # for the US section. my BB look like this one, well on the other side of the page since it's the last edition ( something 199x) . the one on the pic should be 196x something edition So what is that page ? , an older edition of BB that was listing those stamps in US ? |
