I have an older (bought in 1986) 2 square post Scott Specialty Album for Canada. It is about 2.5" wide. I've been looking in vain for a slip case for this for a couple years now on ebay. Only seen one come up and it went for crazy money. Anyone know of any other resource to look for these? I thought I read recently about a company that can make them. Thanks!!

Here is a 2" and a 1 1/2" slipcase. Possibly has a larger size. I did see a 2 1/2" slipcase last month, though that I'd saved the link and now can't find it. Think it was Lighthouse. But I also thought I knew where I saved the link.

iHobb.com has slipcase for large 2-post binder (probably the 3-inch size) available for $26.99

The ebay listing linked to in the second reply is for a slipcase for a Littleton coin album, those are a lot smaller than a Scott two post album.

I thought at one time Subway sold these under their own G and K brand but maybe not any longer. Good luck.

It might be better to make your own. There are quite a few videos and webpages that tell how to do it.

Looks easy to do, if you have a bindery in your garage. Sage Renyolds uses a board Shear in this video. Might be pretty tough to cut that board precisely with out one.

Over the years, Scott has sold albums in a lot of different widths, at least five and I think maybe more. They don't seem to have produced just a group of standard sizes as they do today. Album sizes seemed to depend on how many pages an album needed. I have old Scott albums from the 1950s and 60s that are very narrow, about 1.5" wide, and I have Scott albums that are 2", 2.5", 3", and a few much larger than that. These were all 2-post albums. They also produced slipcases for these sizes.

Today, Scott sells three binders, a standard-sized 2-post binder in one size (about 3"?) and two 3-ring binders, one narrow around 1.5," the other about 2.5". These also have slipcases available for them.

Under their G&K brand, Subway Stamp Shop used to make a few different size binders and slipcases for Scott pages. They were very well made and looked just like the Scott binders. Today, they seem to only make the one 3-post binder (and maybe a slipcase to fit it), but neither of the 3-ring binders.

Finding binders or slipcases that match album sizes no longer made is pretty difficult, but not impossible. ebay is your best bet, I think. It takes a bit of hunting, and many are in bad shape when you can find them. Beyond this, I don't know of anyone making slipcases today that fit Scott binders, but I wish Subway or someone would.

Did a quick search for Folks who make slipcases;

http://www.slipcasebooks.com/ $50.00 any size

http://www.katercrafts.com/slipcase.htm No web site, page with phone number.

http://www.binders.com/custom-casemade-slipcases No prices quoted, varies with size.

http://www.brimarpackaging.com/Page/138/slipcases Quantity discounts.

http://www.maccarthyandsons.com/slipcases.html Minimum quantity = 50 - 5000

I'll be making a few slipcases for various journals, once I locate my paper guillotine (in the storage unit). If I have to get another heavier duty model, it will bring my costs up to around $20 a case for 8 cases. After that initial start up cost, my cost per unit will be less.
I'l post my results here when done.
