I have been a black mount user for years but recently I have been drawn to the clear side for its clean looks and the fact that if I use Steiner mixing mounts and hinges it will not look that great in my opinion.

I stumbled upon this video on youtube and gives a visual tour of a White Ace, Mystic Hingeless album, and vario stock sheets. I did not know the Mysic hingeless was printed on stiffer paper but I am not surprised. It 24 min but a watchable video. It does not seem ear. He shows he uses pages from the Mystic price with his stock book (around 24 min point).

I can see advantages to both. I like the black background as I think it makes the stamp color pop out and the perfs are more clearly visible. Clear mounts, I think, provide a bit more polished presentation though. Even so, I think I'll stick with black. I also prefer a ivory or off bright white colored page.
