i cant find out what number or die watermark is on this postal commentary I can't tell the image I see it but is it a 6 or 10 or 8 please help thank you

for see watermarks , you generally need watermark fluid or ronsonol lighter fuel and a black plate to see the contrast

And more important, you check at the back of the stamps not at the front

Due to my cancer my eye sight is at a loss thats why I tell the image can one recognize this script?? from the impression

I believe it is a watermark 6.

The U277 was only issued in watermarks 6 & 7.

W7 is rather simple ( A "U" entwined with an "S"), whereas W6 is more fancy with "USPOD" all entwined together, with "82" off to the side.

The watermark, which is fairly large, is often in the body of whole envelope. It is nowhere near the embossed design normally.

I stand corrected here, this is a partial Scott watermark 6. The year date of paper manufacture (given as two numbers and not present here) is positioned to the right of the intertwined USPOD.

i think I found the wrapper on a site its a fawn envelope 1883 Plimpton on site wikimedia commons

The scan of the Wikimedia Commons example is indeed on Fawn paper. However, I believe the cut square shown to us by the OP is on white paper.

I have poor lighting will do picture in sunlight but heres a few pictures of stamp showing the brown paper
