In the recent collection I inherited, the sleeve the one stamp is marked as Argentina #7a. Would this be the Scott Catalog number. Thanks for the help, I'm new at this!

Thanks for the feedback already bobggg. I'm certain it was put together in the US. The card also reads an amount. Would that usually be a retail value, purchase amount or catalog value? I guess I'll have to get that Scott Classic volume you mentioned for them all.

Usually, a stamp that was purchased from a dealer, and in a 102 card
should have two values on the card.

The higher value is usually the catalog value, and the second value is the selling price

I believe my wife's grandmother may of had somebody look at these in the early 80's after they were handed to her. Have catalog values overall changed dramatically since then on stamps so old? Would sale price of any stamps go for a standard percantage of the catalog value?

Prices go up, and they go down... A dealer usually sells stamps
at 50-75 % of catalog value. So if he or she is going to make any sort of profit, they would buy stamps at 15-25 % of catalog value.

I posted a reply to your other thread, and I advised you not to have
them appraise your collection.
