Good morning experts!

I've attached scans of an R25 I acquired. I keep looking at it trying to figure out if it's a legitimate R25B or if it's a trimmed R25C.
I think it's a B. I say that because I look at the bottom, and it looks like it was "roughly" separated from the stamp below it, and the remainder piece is too big to be a perforation. And there is a "notch" at top left that looks like the same thing happened...stamp got separated but didn't go cleanly.
I'd appreciate your thoughts!
dave

It's genuine. Correct shade, impression, date, and paper. It was separated by using a steel rule and tearing the sheet, which is why it looks rough.

Thanks Rev and Thanks John....I knew something was off about my scan...tried adjusting the brightness, contrast, blah blah blah...but sure didn't think about putting something dark behind the stamp.

Lessons learned, lessons learned!

My catalog says $8 (2015), although a pair is listed as $100.

Five cents was a common tax rate, so most would have been used as singles. While ten cents was also a common rate, there are a number of common ten cent stamps of various labels so they were almost always available (certificate, inland exchange, bill of lading, contract, etc).
