Unable to say Lawrence, I am just a student of the KG5 as you.

The "Three Pence" is certainly rough,
I'll check my duplicates later, see how mine are.

Looks like a "Special" Pmk.

I know very little about them, usage etc.

It looks like the third watermark. You need to work on your scanning skills. Maybe try 600 dpi and only crop the area of interest. Then try the optimizer. Let's see the corner in more detail. Keep them coming.

6d Roo, 3rd watermark, EFO, no retouches present, post cancel probably Spencer St, Melbourne.

No sign of plate crack on 3d KGV. None listed for this type.

Regards
Frank

No offence Frank but it definitely looks like a cracked frame in the top right corner?

I agree with Spencer st, there used to be a post office at the railway station there.
Cheers

Much better scan, Lawrence. I don't know if it is cracked, but there looks to be a scratch in that area. I can't find a reference in the ACSC. I would keep it in the EFO section until another turns up.

Error, Freak or Oddity. Usually given to items in which there is no constant plate flaw (yet). If a second version ever appears, then the odds for a constant plate flaw increase.
