I took some images from some stamps. My husband collected these over 35-40 years ago. His mother has kept his collection stored all this time and we just got them. I am researching, but this is not in my normal wheelhouse. Please tell me, if possible, which Scott stamp this is...
As part of the 1922 issue, it could be one of several 1c stamps. You'll need to measure the prefs on the sides too. This web site will help you identify which it is.
Your perf gauge shows that the vertical perf measurement is NOT 11, but instead something less than 11. Possibilities are 10 or 10.5, probably the latter. In which case your stamp is probably Scott 632, worth the catalogue minimum of 25-cents in perfect condition. Added: Place the 10 and/or 10.5 part of the gauge along the vertical side of the stamp to verify whether the actual perfs are 10 or 10.5.
The good news is that you can simply say "no" to watermarks, perforations and shades and simply collect an example of each stamp. Entirely legitimate and simpler fun.
