The date is correct. The stamp was issued April 11, 1977.

Here we read the dates Month,Day,Year. Imagine you thought The 4th of November, 1977.

You're all wrong: that stamp was issued on February 4, 1977. It's not an 11, it's a Roman numeral II.

(Also: since July 1979, Canadian postal cancels have (quite properly) been in YY-MM-DD or YYYY-MM-DD format.)
