We know according o Unitrade that a Scott 595viii and Scott 595ai on TYPE II stamps have the "BLUE TAIL" variety.

It says nothing about TYPE I having "BLUE TAIL" variety.

Below is a Scott 595 (TYPE I) with the "BLUE TAIL" variety.

Or am I missing something..?

Robert

wert - I agree that your stamp has the Type I characteristics.

To ensure that it is not Type II, it should not have OP2 tagging.

If no tagging, then there are obviously Type I blue tail stamps, as this is one.

Good catch !

Unitrade show Scott 595 (TYPE I) with both OP4 and OP2 tagging.

You are correct. I didn't look at the sub-numbers, just the heading.

Type I - Only Perf 12.5 x 12.0

Type II - Either Perf 12.5 x 12.0 or Perf. 13.3 x 13.3

However, There are two types of tagging on Type I that are completely different from Type II's tagging.

Type I is OP2 but 3mm wide or else OP4

Type II is only OP2 and 4mm wide
