I am not an expert. So im not good at identifying stamps. Is this an error as the background colours are different?

Please note that the purple bit at bottom where the face value etc is is exactly the same (the lighting makes colour different.)

Thanks for your time.
Jamie

Hi Jamie. Looks like two different stamps. Of course, the paper could somehow have gotten discolored or this stamp actually used two different papers.

There are 2 different stamps with this same design and denomination, Scott 2133 and Scott 2299. Perhaps these are differences characteristic of each separate printing.

The two stamps are Scott 2299. Clear numeral on colored background. Not sure why one is yellow.

The stamp on the right looks stained. It might have been soaked off manila paper which resulted in the discoloration.

If money is an issue, in the U.S. many libraries have Scott catalogs. I'm not sure if that would be the case in the U.K. Also, used copies of older catalogs are fine for identifying all but the most recent stamps and can often be found at very reasonable prices on ebay.
