Hi im an antiques dealer and manage estate sales, not a stamp collector but acquired a box of postcards and envelopes with many cancelled stamps. After 3+ hrs a night for a week educating myself and purchasing a perf tool and magnifying stand I'm still a little confused due to conflicting reports online on the measurements of these 3 stamps. I have a pair of 1 cent Franklin stamps design A155, verified perf 11 19.5 x 22mm. I took a 632 and a 552 cut corners off and matched them up the pair is wider than both. I went to mystic today and showed them the stamps, she said my 632 with cut corners is a rotary ??? 552 is 18.5-19x 22 and can be as much as 1/4 22mm off so what is the pair? A 594 I've read is 19.75 x 22.25 and read 19.5+ x22+ I've even saw (read) 19.75x21.75. So I left the pair with mystic along with many others to identify and make an offer to buy but I hope some one could shed some light on what the real measurement are or is it that much of a range and it's best to send out for certification?
Frameline does touch perf on my pair. I don't th8nk 8 have a pair of rare 594s but would like to know if there is an exact measurment so if I ever am lucky enough I don't sell it for .25 cents lol or waste $30 getting a scott 552 certified lol.
