Whats A Fair Price For Damaged 241/242 And 292

out of a old collection I am braking apart, I have 3 stamps that have damage, not sure what would be a fair price, since I do not want to keep them. please advise

Someone is sure to want them as space fillers. If they were mine, I'd put them at auction on ebay with a starting price of 99 cents, and let the chips fall where they may. You'll get a fair price.

I'd hesitate to estimate or try and set a price. I agree with ddaann. That's probably the best way to go. If you do sell them, I'd be interested to hear what they go for, if you don't mind.

There was a set of damaged Zeppelins in the recent Harmer-Schau auction - I don't know what % of cat they went for but it might give you a rough idea.

For me, there is too much to determine what a fair price would be without the ability to examine them in person.

So please excuse what I say, as spacefillers, maybe $10 each.

I am weird and never found a stamp I didn't like. What is a fair value for a 292 with what looks like heavy faults? I have given it some thoughts and I can't come up with a price. Would I personally give 10 dollars? Yeah for this one I would consider that price a steal. I base that on what I see some far better ones go for. So in the end I guess it really is going to depend on who needs this stamp for their collection and will settle for the faults.

Collectors will overpay for dollar value Columbian or Trans-Mississippi space fillers. Check recent ebay sales for comparable values. The least expensive recent 292 at ebay auction sold for $96 but was better than the one above. A worse example sold for $103.91. Neither price included shipping. The least expensive 241 was $59.99 in bad shape with a poor presentation. Finally, the least expensive used 242 sold for $52, probably because the seller did not bother to provide large clear images.

Buyers on ebay often pay a higher percentage of value for damaged stamps than for sound stamps, perhaps because some sellers fail to proper descriptions. Popular stamps like the dollar value commemoratives will command higher percentages for value than ordinary stamps.
