Found another stamp, mint 240, actually found it and others same time when I found that 229.

As you can clearly see its now just a space filler that is if I had an album. Appears a few people handled it without using tongs. Don't know what I plan to do with it.

But still makes for an interesting and unexpected discovery.

I am not so sure it is mint. If it has gum you might want to check to see if it is a regum.

Besides the darkened perf tips (gum soaked) there are traces of a cancel across the upper left vignette frame and into "United States".

I agree, that was my first thought. Not mint.

If is hard to tell since I can only enlarge if so much. But from the strands around the perf it appears it might be regumed. Again there appears to be traced of cancellation marks as though the stamp has been cleaned. You forgot to put your name on this one. Lol just joking with you. Would like to see the back.

I would still take it because it is still a decent stamp. Thanks for shading.

Thanks, it might in fact be used, but wonder why all the other stamps found in that book was mint!

In the case it is mint, but regummed, I could really care less, but thinking more about it and double and triple checking it very well could be used.

Thanks for the input.

I enlarged it and brightened the image, so everyone can see it in more clear detail...
