Hi all, I want to sell these cards, but have no idea of where are they from. Could anyone help me translate the Japanese? I am interested to know from which city they are, and also what game are the women playing in the first postcard.

Oh what fun! I get to pull out my Japanese dictionaries and do some deciphering!

The top card says, written right to left: "Osaka Shin-ai Girls' High School Big Springtime Athletic Meet — Ball-pull — (Third Year)." What I've translated as "Ball-pull" (because that's what the characters mean, despite the fact that the girls appear to be pushing the balls rather than pulling them) could possibly be read as Tamahiki, Tamabiki, Kyuuhiki, or Kyuubiki, but my dictionaries, Japanese Wikipedia, and even Google have all failed to provide me with anything more useful. Shin-ai, by the way, means "belief and love".

The bottom card says, again written right to left: "(Famous place in Hakodate) — Suehirocho Center (2)." I can't make out the blurry characters in the fine print.

Hi, the small & blurry part of the bottom card could be read as

"Hakodate fortress headquarters permission ", followed by "trademark" with the company's trademark shown in between the two characters.

I suspect that the photo of Suehirocho used was either provided by the fortress headquarter or have been given permission from the headquarter for printing, possibly after clearing some security check...

I see it differently, the balls are on fabric, I cannot see the ability to push.
I see it as the girls pulling the balls backwards, upon mats of fabric.
Perhaps being penalised should any of the balls come off the mats during the exercise.

An intriguing game nonetheless.
