Dear Stamp Community Family
Here I have a stamp from Finland with famous Elias Lönnrot.

According Wikipedia:
Elias Lönnrot (born 9 April 1802 in Sammatti; died 19 March 1884, also there) was a Finnish writer, philologist and doctor. On his travels in Finland and Eastern Karelia he recorded the oral folk poetry of Finland, on the basis of which he wrote the national epic Kalevala (1835; final version 1849) and the song collection Kanteletar (1840). He thus laid the foundation for Finnish literature and the development of a Finnish identity. According to Bible translator Mikael Agricola, he is considered the "second father of the Finnish language".
Does anyone know for what reason it was issued? And when?
Thanks for any hint.
Best regards from Switzerland
André
