Argentina 1863 5c And 10c - Help Identifying Type?

Good Evening,

I'm hoping someone could identify the type of stamps I have here - Scott Specialized gives quite a range of choices. From what I see I do NOT have an accent above the "U" in "Republic" so that leaves 1863. However, that still leaves a range of choices... as I'm not sure if I have a broad "C" or not in "Centavos". The catalog says 7C and 7H have been extensively counterfeited, so that is a possibility.

The green on is definitely 7F, but to identify ribbed paper a scan of the back would help.

Well, I am no expert, but we might be able to figure this out.

The 10c first. It looks like ribbed paper because you can see the horizontal fiber like lines in the paper. Th 5c does not have that. That would make it a 7Fq.

We might be able to figure out the 5c by process of elimination. First broad c or not. I don't think it is broad because this is an example of broad http://www.saaphilnet.com/photos/127685.jpg

Now we need to eliminate colors

Count the pearls on each stamp.

Your forged 10 centavos green stamp next to the authentic stamp.
The differences are obvious...(plus the narrow "c" does not exist
in the 10 centavos).

Thank you VERY much for the pictures and guides! Since the 10c green stamp was found to be fake, I counted the 5c red stamp pearls and straight lines in the shield. There are 72 pearls and 11 straight lines in the shield. So by the looks of the guides provided previously - it is a "Genuine Type I".

Your 5 centavos is called a "large print counterfeit". It should have 71 or 78 pearls according to album weeds.

ALBUM WEEDS says 72 for type I and 74 pearls in type II .

Not sure how many editions of album weeds there are. The snip above is from album weeds and the edition (PDF) I snipped it from only lists the 1st and 2nd forged sets.

Apologies Don, did not know you had it available. Come winter time in Minneapolis I usually spend more time on stamps but during summer & fall I barely touch them due to childrens sports commitments. I will make it a point to register and dig deep into the wonderful work you've done with stamp smarter.

Confused as to what the conclusion here is... How many pearls and straight lines should I have to be genuine? Seems these answers conflict. Thank you everyone!
