Are Wiemar Republic Stamps Being Forged?

Back in 1976 I purchased a mint block of 6 Republic 1919 to 1923 40 Pfennig Flugpost Biplane Michel#112-Scott DE C2 unused 6 block with plate block number H5824-20 in the bottom selvage. My block has no gum. Yesterday on ebay I found a similar mint block of 6 with exactly the same number H5824-20 which apparently still has its original gum. I currently have 43 mint German full sheets which I have obtained for the selvage borders. If plate block numbers are being forged then I want to know. Is it possible that I am misunderstanding the meaning of the H5824-20 or is one or both of these forgeries?

All copies of MiNr 112 will have one of two HAN numbers -- H 3659.19 or H 5824.20. -- as those were the two job numbers for those print jobs.

The HAN Haus Auftrags Nummer on your stamps are correct. There were 2 different ones issued on this stamp. The number behind the . is the year of order(1920) of these stamps. The number in front is a order number. The other number is H3659.19, so an order from 1919.

This a basic explanation, I am sure others will join in to ad to this post with their knowledge.

catalogue value for a sheet likes this, I would put between 45 and 50 euro.

A lot of collectors regretfully have no interest in complete sheets due to their size. Difficult to store or frame etc.

So prices for certain issues are low, to low? Yes, but it is what it is.

Well I suppose if it was Mi.Nr.112b it would of been different.In fact; what are the types in these stamps?

Unfortunately my block of 6 are not the Mi Nr. 112b but I wish I could find my own full sheet of Michel #112. I guess I gave up looking too soon.

House order number on the margin of a stamp of 1923
In the Reichsdruckerei all the print orders of the Reichspostamt or the Reichspostministerium (Reichspostministerium) became, but also of other authorities and offices in the respective business year. In order to be able to clearly assign the printed work to the respective orders, the respective house order number was printed on the margin. For the first time at the beginning of the financial year 1902 (1 April 1902 to 31 March 1903), the house order number of the Reichsdruckerei is printed on stamp sheets. It initially consisted of three (beginning with the number 101) or four digits. Probably at the beginning of the financial year 1904 a large "H" was set before the respective number. At the end of the financial year 1908 and then continuously from 1909 onwards, the respective fiscal year with its last two digits was recorded behind the actual house order number, separated by a single point. With the code customary at the Reichsdruckerei, the house order number was also used in the Bundesdruckerei until the first quarter of 1950. The HAN was then changed as follows: Example 16274.51 1, where 16 is the code for the print job by the mail, 274 the order number, and 51 the year of the order.
