Here is R64c with what I'm stumped what is going on. I have a few ideas but really don't know for sure what this variety is.

I've scanned the parent stamp in full and added arrows that point to the Areas of Interest (AI).

Then I've added camera images of where the arrows point to the AI.

There are other AI areas, but of little importance. No need to show many camera images. I've only added the camera images of the most important AI!

The individual camera images may not be the clearest, but are fully functional.

This looks like position 1 double transfer, but I can't see the top left corner with the position dot clearly. The position dot there is shifted south.

Hi Lackmacher, thanks for your post.

I do not understand "Looks like position 1 double transfer"? Would you provide the reference (book) for position 1 double transfer? In all my many years (too many years) of chasing and collecting plate varieties, especially double transfers, I've never heard of this "Position 1 double transfer"!

My example, the left margin is too narrow, on my stamp the AI for your second arrow is actually exactly where a perforation hole is. If you want to see this for your self (I hope you computer has this option) Select your "Control" key, and at same time select the "+" key on your keyboard. On my computer doing this I can enlarged the image many times to enable one to view the AI of your second arrow for the south shifted dot! While not clear, but still functional.

Again, thanks for your posting, and look forward to learning about an unknown reference book I was not aware of!

Sometimes it's the book of knowledge. This is a double transfer first shown to me by Dick Celler when he picked it up on the Smithsonian proof sheet.

The R64 Smithsonian proof sheet is online at Arago Revenue Stamps so anyone can see for themselves. It's not really a book but it works for me.

Hi revenuecollector, I think you are correct, what caused me to wonder, I had never seen an example that looked like this one.

Good to know, guess I can toss it now.

Why on earth would you "toss it" assuming you mean throw it away?
