I know it's not much yet. Trying to better organize my stamps; get them out of my Vario pages & put into my albums. Here's what I've come up with so far. Just thought I'd share. I will update with more pics, when I add more varieties.

It's remarkable how many Plate 5 strips are out there with Jewett City postmarks. I wonder if they are all from the same correspondence.

sinclair I've noticed the same thing & I to wondered where they were being sent(& what was being sent) & why there had to be 3 stamps! I really don't know. It's still one of my favorite Franklin pieces I own. I think I picked it a few years back for $50 BIN!

Most strips were used to pay the 3c letter rate.

sinclair2010, I thought maybe bigger/heavier letters, required additional postage. I also wonder what was being sent & who was sending it. Maybe it was some type of advertising, or brochure. One wouldn't think a company would spend 3c/each to mail advertising, but maybe? In my free time, I'll dig around & see if I can find some still on cover. Would be interesting to know who was sending & what was being sent!
