I have researched but find no direct answer to my question regarding offset stamps. I know they can be felt (smooth surface), they are poor in quality, held vertically to a light, or even subjected to aluminum foil. But I see no mention as to dimensions. One can determine engraved stamps as to whether they are rotary or flat plate by sizing them. However, this does not appear to be the case with offsets. Are offsets all the same size? Are the the same as flat plates? What, what, what? It driving me crazy and I really need your help!
Scott Specialized mentions one offset type as being shorter. They are all rather common. Why not just measure them yourself comparing with a known flat plate (4c to 1dollar denomination).
It's mostly visible if you compare overall printing appearance, but if you want to look for a detail, here is a nice example - I also often look at George's eyebrows :). https://goscf.com/t/40951#348932
