Years ago I used to subscribe to Linns Stamp News and there was always stamps advertised for sale (usually Canadian and/or Provinces) from Kasimir Bileski. His ads provided interesting in-depth history/descriptions of the stamps he was selling. Very unique stuff. I was wondering if there was ever a book or compilation published of his writings. Thanks!
Don't know about a book, but he had plenty of good Polish material, kept me poor for many a year, all snail mail then, cheques, money orders, all seemed to get through in good time back then...
He compiled and edited a number of editions of the "The Canada Basic Catalogue". The last one I have is the 4th (1968-1970) edition copyright 1969. He was also very much into revenues. I have a "British Columbia Revenue Stamps" catalogue copyright 1971 that he edited based on data supplied by Dr. Joseph Pearce, Victoria BC. He most likely had more publications. The above are two that I got when I dealt with him in the 1960s and 70s.
Thanks for the replies. I have a copy of his Canada Basic Catalogue somewhere ... He really got into some detail on each issue it seems ... varieties ... opinion on value ... etc. I remember his section on the Registration Stamps and his description of how difficult the 8 cent value was to find in decent condition. I think at the time he was saying he would pay the catalogue value of any he could find.
