I see all the dancing, but what is the thing that set all this off? A bit of an explanation for us dummies would be nice and appreciated,

It appears to be a foreign entry on right margin, on the face around the eye, and in lower right 6. Great find error rocks. |

OK, so if you check re-entries.com under 6C LARGE QUEEN you will see #10 which has the same markings. Until now there has never been a second copy found, so we now have constancy. Ralph should be updating soon. |

New handle Jimi? Glad that you made a nice find, keep up the happy hunting.
I have seen the same marks before, but think it is a stretch to call it a foreign entry. Seems like plate damage to me, perhaps from corrosion or rubbing / wear, hard to be sure what. Absolutely it is not a double print in any way.

Thus far no one has mentioned the double lines on the Queen's lower face. Is that normal? |

That is not normal but I don't know if those light horizontal lines are any more than a blemish on the plate. They are not particularly sharp. |

All of the items noted by ErrorsRock are clearly shown on the re-entries page, under #10 http://www.re-entries.com/large_queens_6c.htmlThe various marks in the right number 6, though, appear to be rust marks or something else. (They are not in the copy on re-entries.) This definitely looks like a confirming copy of #10 which proves consistency. Nice find! |

Looks very interesting, I find it hard to tell. It would be nice to have side by side comparison with a normal. |

Quote: light horizontal lines are any more than a blemish on the plate. They are not particularly sharp. I was actually referring to the second jaw line, which is sharp and clear. From her lower lip down to her throat, the outline of her chin appears doubled. Again, is this normal? |

The jaw line doubling (and the inner ring for the matter) is normal for the 6c large queen. |

This is a very neat variety. Congrats on verifying it.
I definitely agree that on the area in the '6' and slightly up and to the right of it, are rust marks, or similar. I've seen these on numerous early US stamps, and its not unusual for them to not exist on early impressions, but to appear and get much worse on late(r) impressions.
