In the 2009 Scott catalog, this stamp is #128 (30Jun1944). The catalog value is 25c.

However, keep in mind that the catalog value is for a well-centered stamp with no faults.

It's nice that you have so many stamps and I hope you are enjoying them. However, the stamps you have shown are all either stained/toned or damaged in some other way; concerning actual sales value, these stamps are usually unsellable or will only sell for a few cents each at most.

I would encourage you to enjoy your stamps for the beauty, relaxation, and knowledge.

The stamp commemorates the 300th anniversary of the death of the Irish historian Brother Michael O'Clery.

There are 2 stamps in this set. The 1sh stamp is shown below:

Thank you for your feedback k. I understand what you say about condition. A relative has given me their stamp collection so I'm going through it to see if any of the stamps are valuable. Sadly for me, it looks like most of them are low value ... still quite a few to go though :)

Thanks again.

So far, all the stamps you have shown are either very common or relatively low value. If you show one of particularly high value, I (or someone else) would be sure to let you know.

You might want to visit a local library. Since you are in UK, they are unlikely to have the Scott catalog, but you can see if they have the Stanley Gibbons catalog. You can have fun and learn a lot about stamps by finding what you have in that catalog.

Enjoy your newly acquired collection!
