Hi all. I hope someone can point out on one of these pics/scans, where the little mark is located on #102(maybe in Paint or another program).

I've read it's to the right of upper left "1", below an ornament. I have 2 examples of #102 & a few #63's to compare the difference, but I still can't locate the small mark/dash.

I'm unable to even locate anything showing the difference. All I find is the paper is hard & white, and gum is crackly. I get that part & I get it has a proof like/detailed printing & the color is fairly unique. I'm just trying to locate the tiny mark(before I go crazy). Any help is much appreciated!

I don't know of any dash for identification of a 102, I only know the things you mention (proof-like impression, good bright color, very white paper, often good centering). The dash is to decide whether it's a second design, not for the 102. The dash is there on your stamp also, by the way, right to the left number, but within the circle above the "P" of Postage. I am not an expert for this, but for me your stamp has not the white color and perfect impression to be a 102. Best would be to scan together to a known 63 to compare color and paper.
