Nice page Perfin_RK. Do you hole-punch them or place in page protector?

Some of the pages I made recently:

I also made the pages with an image from the stamps I have so I know which ones I'm missing when I'm on an event.

the filled in pages can be viewed here : http://postzegels.vincentvriends.be/classic.php

just a comment on a post you did last year, about doing a catalogue number info page great idea, how have you done it was thinking of putting the catalogue numbers then some info of the stamp, perfs size etc.

Like the font you use too think I'm going to use it on my pages.
does look good,

Perfin_RK:

Here is my current stage of development of the facing info and stamp pages:

This way, it is easy to run off a new info page if catalogue numbers or any other information changes. The only information I would put on the stamp page is were there are two or more identical looking stamps.

This example is perhaps an extreme example as there are so many differences in perf, date of issue, withdrawal date and watermark.

The stamp pages will be card stock - about 50 or 60#. The info page can be lighter (cheaper?), say 28 or 30#.

The only concern I have is where stamps may be in contact with the printing on the info page, e.g. in situations where hinges rather than mounts are used. The general feeling is that this is not a problem but, for safety's sake, I will probably use clear protection sheets between the info and stamp pages. You have to remember that one generally plans on making a collection page that will last 50+ years. I have some old business documents going back 25 or more years were ink migration is not pretty at all. Of course, printer inks have improved over this time.

While I'm on-line, I may as well post a picture from my father's collection (now in my possession). This page is now almost 80 years old. His pages are what have inspired me to do my own pages.

I use the free AlbumEasy software to make my own pages on 65 pound card stock. Here are a few examples.

Just a related question here: Is the PH value of the paper still a problem today in most papers? I see sometimes the "acid-free" information for some papers, but the most papers you can buy today - including the so called premium papers, coated - there is no information at all. I even tried to ask once the big printer manufacturers about their paper, but they don't seem to care much about this. My guess and experience is that no papers today have the old acid problem because of the changes in the paper manufacturing process.

But just would like to know if you, who print your own album pages, consider anything about the paper quality (acid-free, no other bad chemicals) before printing? Or is this no problem today anymore?
