Seller knows exactly what he's doing: trolling for the truly gullible.

I think this guy is just a bit more delusional.

Unfortunately, sellers like these are one of the problems for real sellers.

This is just the ebay version of "Make me an offer" is all. ebay MAKES the seller put in a BIN price to enable the "Make an Offer" option. Set a really high BIN so you can accept offers for a few days and take the highest one if you want. No big deal.

I looked at his/her feedback history. I didn't see anything philatelic, looks like clothes, mostly. They know nothing about stamp values.

Makes even MORE sense for a seller like that.

If ebay would allow the "Make an Offer" option without a BIN price, 95% of these would go away. Not the Sellers' fault, they are just trying to get the best offer they can. Completely understandable.

Absolutely nothing wrong with these listings.

I am like everyone else in that I consider people like this as scammers just looking for a sucker with a lot of money and no brains. They need to allow all comments made about a listing to be posted with the listing without the dealer being able to remove the response. Then we could spam dealers like this with negative comments until they have to remove the listing or be exposed as thieves.

"Trolling for suckers' has been an on-going discussion for a long time; without question it is acceptable under ebay terms and conditions. Whether or not it is ethical will remain a lively debate.

Good Lord, that is a horrific idea! Can you imagine the abuse that would erupt? Want to take down a competitor? Create a few fake ebay accounts and make negative comments on all their listings. Want to stalk a seller that you're unhappy with because of one transaction? Just make comments on all their listings.

Not only "no" but "[CENSORED] NO!"

Egads...

Could someone please explain the difference between his description of "Rare" in stamps and "Ultra Rare" as defined in an old postcard? I am not sure of the difference. But I do know that all of his stamps are rare.

To me, if there are three stamps of a kind left, they would be rare. Only one left - ultra rare. Probably would be a very personal interpretation,

The seller did not allow returns and mentions it twice. I like to taste the flavor so I want my stamps medium rare.

These listings at these ridiculous prices cannot be intended to generate actual sales of stamps. Isn't it more likely that the seller, for some reason, is simply putting the stamp "on hold" by adding an absurdly high price to keep it from selling in the meantime? I can't explain why a dealer would do that, but maybe it's to stop sales while the dealer is busy with other things (or away), and then they will lower the price later when they're ready to sell and ship stamps again? Could it be easier to just keep the listing up than to have to relist it all over again? There has to be some explanation since no one in their right mind lists a common stamp for prices like these? Or am I wrong? Are these sellers simply nuts?

The sale shows it was ended for "an error in the listing". Now that's funny.

I explained it above but it seems no one read my post. When we were power sellers on ebay we did it all the time. 95% of these are completely legit and would stop if ebay allowed the best offer option to be used without a BIN price.
