These listings at these ridiculous prices cannot be intended to generate actual sales of stamps. Isn't it more likely that the seller, for some reason, is simply putting the stamp "on hold" by adding an absurdly high price to keep it from selling in the meantime? I can't explain why a dealer would do that, but maybe it's to stop sales while the dealer is busy with other things (or away), and then they will lower the price later when they're ready to sell and ship stamps again? Could it be easier to just keep the listing up than to have to relist it all over again? There has to be some explanation since no one in their right mind lists a common stamp for prices like these? Or am I wrong? Are these sellers simply nuts?
I think delusional is a better word than nuts. These guys are never collectors/dealers. They just sell assorted stuff on
ebay, and are convinced that because it is old, it is worth a lot
