Thank you..you guys are too kind.

The advantages of a scanner, are sometimes dulled by the exposure of a multitude of sins....

That's a nice pair Rod. Hong Kong had the best design for the Peace issue. I believe 37 out of the 43 countries (or something close to that) had this design

1946 Peace issue.

Like the Peace issue the same can be said for the 1937 Coronation issue. Canada, Southern Rhodesia and a couple others had the nicer of the designs IMHO.

1937 Southern Rhodesia Coronation set. The large margins and superb centering really give this set some nice eye appeal.

Most countries used this design

South West Africa issued this lovely engraved design for the 1937 Coronation issue with the bi-lingual pairs, one in Afrikaans and one in English.

Stanley Gibbons refers to these as the "Victory" Omnibus.
138 Stamps comprise the complete set.

I don't think that it's engraving or the lack of it, but rather the shoddy design and the frequently inane subject matter that undermines modern stamps.

In 1944 the Falkland Islands issued a short set (½d - 1/-)of the 1938-1946 pictorials for the dependent Islands, South Georgia, South Shetlands, South Orkneys, & Graham Land.

A little of each.
