This perforated "form" seems like it was intended to be torn off for one copy to be kept, presumably by U.S. Customs. The other half, who knows? Maybe given to a claimant on seized property or mail? Kept in a separate log book? Inquiring minds would love to know....

I thought the font used for the serial numbers looked pseudo-futuristic.

Guessing this might be from the 1940's or 1950's. What do you think?????

I couldn't find ANY reference online nor in Scott's U.S. Specialized catalogue.

This is what the 1939 labels looked like, according to the link above.

Interesting that there were at least two colors: white (mine) and red (pictured above).
