So- the seller presents the basics in English, but the important qualifiers in French, with contradictions.

Please see the first post made by shermae since you don't seem to understand me. I am in no way suggesting that the ebay post be reported because there is both english and french in the listings - that bothers me in no way. But if what shermae is saying is true, and the information in the two languages, english and french, is contradictory, that should be straightened out by ebay with the seller.

That is why I would report it, however I can't because I don't understand french and I don't see any contradictions myself. That is what that "Report Issue" button is about, it exists so that ebay can fix problems that are spotted by users - there is nothing shameful or wrong about using the link to help ebay keep their marketplace safe.

Don't why know you persist in assuming that I am somehow against other languages - I am not, I took 3 languages in school besides my native english - I have no problem with other languages - except I don't understand when most of them are used. Sorry, I did not take French - wasn't interested as I wanted to go into a scientific field (which I never did sadly).

Julie

Considering the amount of money involved, this thread seems like a tempest in a teapot. Aside from any inconsistencies in the seller description or terms and conditions, the seller has to overcome problems created by changes in ebay HTML requirements suddenly announced at the end of the summer. In order to shift blame, ebay blamed Google for requiring https: links to make listings more secure. Also, ebay has randomly started flagging or pulling down listings with links to external sites and harassing buyers and sellers with bogus claims about "off ebay transactions" based on bots that cannot distinguish Scott numbers from telephone numbers or postal codes. Although the seller appears to be using Auctiva to prepare listings, getting rid of the scrolling gallery and other active content was reported as a problem in the ebay Community years ago, long before ebay suddenly banned active content:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Archi...td-p/3118285

I would not expect the seller to be able modify more than 7,000 listings anytime soon.

The sellers main failing in my opinion is listing too many terms and conditions. For some reason, unnecessary terms and conditions seem to attract antagonistic buyers looking for disputes. It is also not clear to me how the seller can afford to list so many inexpensive items unless the sales of more expensive items provide enough financial cushion to subsidize failed auctions.

Some listings in France use this for condition:

Qualité NEUF ** : Stamp Mint,no Hinge trace,Original Gum

Qualité NEUF * : Stamp Mint,Hinge Trace,original Gum

Qualité NEUF (*) : Stamp Mint,No gum

Qualité Oblitéré TB :(used) First choice,no defects

Qualité Oblitéré B : (Used) Stamp with a good aspect, small defects

Qualité Oblitéré ST : (used)Stamp with defects, worthy of being in a collection
For instance an example;a stamp is Mint with original gum you will find the condition as follows:

Neuf*/ST meaning that the stamp has defects(because TB,B,ST will indicate the real condition.
The example from a listing by a known Delcampe seller:

Another example: Neuf(*)/TB ; that means Mint no gum & first choice no defects:

I have done business with this seller in the past and never have I had any problems. I think we are beating a dead horse and I agree fully with cfrphoto. Please keep in mind that this seller is in Belgium - French is his language. English is what he got in high school and therefor leaves a lot to be desired.

I have many purchases from them and consider them one of the best sellers on E-bay. I could not claim any other seller better!
