1974 $2 'Red Gums of Far North'
I have just spent time going through my examples of this stamp. Brusden White list 4 varieties in used condition and until I found a "fungus" flaw (BW 665e) I really had no idea what I was looking for as the the images and description did not really help. Had I read the attached note (6) I would have read that there is also a red dot in the sky on both stage I and II of this flaw. Once this was known I found a stage I, the stage II is very obvious.

(note: it's more a line than a dot, and also appears as a 'v')
The above two varieties note colour while BW 665e does not.

(the fungus is not noticable in the b/w images provided and will cause great frustration but once you spot a stage II you know all! I'm not great in description of colour but I would say bright neon blue (aqua). And once I realised the red dot (note 6.) I found a stage I, though I'm still not sure because the red dot has moved slightly right, which is not consistent BUT it does have small neon colour as per stage II. Maybe a very early stage I ???)
