Ok so scott#207 is a listing for a (1924 / UN PESO / 25 CENTS). The stamp shown has the 25 CENTS omitted but I have no listing for it. The scott# 208 does have a listing for a omitted (25 CENTS). Does anyone have a updated cat. with the correct listing.

( Already compared stamp to one with the 25Cents overprint and there is plenty of room to place where mine is missing it)

I looked this up in my Scott catalogue; it seems the UN PESO/25 CENTS overprint applies only to #208; #207 is overprinted simply UN PESO as in your picture.

1775mac, The stamp shown is 207,
208 is overprinted onto 206, where 207 is overprinted onto 172.
209 is overprinted onto 208 by adding 2 bars through the "25 Cents".
However, 208a is shown to be missing "Un Peso/25 Cents" so only the year 1924 would be on the stamp.

So it is still a 207, the cat. I am using is a 2003 and it shows the overprint with the 25 Cents. I am more apt. to believe the newer cat.

Sure pick a nice easy relaxing area to branch out in. Yeah right some of the surchages and overprints on these Central America ones can cause many headaches. Do not even get me started on Nicaragua.

It is the same in my Scott's but you need to read between the lines to figure it out. Scott could have or should have displayed all 3 options, but maybe back in the day they got tired of all those provisional overprints.

You are right about Nicaraugua Mac, may as well throw the Scott catalog out when it comes to their reissues etc !!

Mac,
That is an attractive well centered overprint you have there. It appears to be unused.

While on the topic of overprints, one has to be careful when buying overprinted Guatemala stamps. There are tons of bogus and fake overprints on the market. Watch out for statements that have descriptions using words "unlisted invert" or "unlisted color" and the like.

very good advice ! I have all ready come across several bogus Inverts etc. but they make for their own collection, Also keep in mind some years there are several varieties of overprints, also there are several perforation varieties on many issues.
