These stamps haven't been hinged as by a hinge but have been lifted from paper that was in a stock book so, how would you categorize them please? Would the stamps be categorized as still being mint or would they be categorized as Unused?

Next question would be would you soak them to get the paper off the back or just let them be?

Thanks again for your time and input.

Hi

I believe that the correct terminology would be "unused with disturbed original gum and with paper adherences."

I wouldn't soak off the gum.

I was thinking of Unused and gum disturbance but hadn't thought of paper adhesion.
As always James Thank you!

Newby,

The whole idea is to leave them as intact and undisturbed as possible. Hence,
some gum is better than no gum. There are times where stamps must be soaked no matter what. Two stamps stuck together is one such situation.

Thanks Jack for the reply. I'm not one for soaking stamps with gum. Even though back in the day a lot of collectors did just that. I like gum on my stamps no matter how much it is.
