I emailed myself that link and was going to add it to the other thread. Surely looks like a secret mark in the left oval to me but with such a bad scan it's hard to tell. To me neither top or bottom outer curved frame is distinctly broken, let alone visible. |

Anthony can post nice photos of his stamps when he wants to. The fact that this photo is so distorted makes me wonder what he is trying to hide. |

Alub, I agree. The high contrast of the pic makes me think that there are surface issues (wrinkles or scuffs) on the stamp. |

The stamp is highly unlikely to be a Type IIIa and may be a Type II. I think it is most likely to be a Type IV, Scott #9 with a cleaned cancel. The cancel removal kind of ruined the stamp so it is a little tough to nail it down perfectly. |

The dot in the oval is in the wrong place for the secret mark. |

There is too much we can't see. Major thing(s) have happened to this stamp since it was printed.
As it appears to me - there is no such stamp. either: 1) transfer roll #1 b relief with a cancellation dot. (Doesn't exist) 2) plate 11 T relief with LL plume not correct and no perforations
I can't think of any proof that would look like this.
Conclusion: Another hot mess
Sinclair: I agree - best odds are: #9 b relief |

Jaxom - no EE recut, but could have been scraped off.
There is plenty here that isn't quite what it seems. |

I was looking at the marks in the "O" of ONE. You can see the stop point of the top and bottom recuts. And a white scrape mark where the second recut would be. Look at Neinken's page 160. |

Look at the top and bottom recuts, where they end. You know where it stops and you can "see" them. |
