I have a question for experienced philatelists.
In the situation, when I want to make album sheet pages for my stamps collection, what is good and what is not it?

If I have one certain stamp that was not used (With clear gum) and on the album sheet page I miss this postmark. (note! I have this one stamp only).

What to do?
1. Is a good stamp affixed with glue to an album sheet page?
or
2. Preserve it individually in another album?

What's the better?
Do you have a clean unused postmark in the album alone or paste it on an album sheet page?

It all depends on what the stamp is but I don't think a mint never hinged stamp shouldn't be hinged into an album.

Could you show us the stamp in question?

I have used clear mounts in cases like this. Hinge or glue stick the mount to the page.

Hi @Bobby De La Rue

I have more of them (I upload all my US stamps to my homepage blog). There I have some stamps that are independent (individual).

For example.
This stamp below, I have only one. This stamp was not used. Do I make mistakes if I glue stick this stamp to the album sheet page?
Thanks for replay, best regards.

BTW.
Thanks to the moderator who moved the topic to the relevant forum. I apologize for making mistakes in opening the topic in the wrong group.

That's expensive for me :(
I have over 1000 pieces of US postal stamps only. And where is it for some another collection I want to keep?
Of course, I will try to sell most of my collections, other countries that are not interesting to me.
Thanks for replay, best regards.

John, if the stamp you show and others like it are unhinged/unmounted, which is what I interpret you to mean by "clear gum," then I would say it would definitely be a mistake to affix the stamp directly to the page. A good rule of thumb is never to hinge an unhinged stamp. It sounds like you prefer to have your album pages uniform in appearance with regard to postmarking (that is, an unused stamp would look out of place on a page filled with used stamps). If so you might consider keeping your unused stamps in a stockbook if maintaining separate albums using mounts for the unused stamps is too expensive.

If you are talking about actually GLUING stamps to the album page, I would suggest NEVER doing that, whether the stamp is mint or used. If you are using stamp hinges, then perhaps it would be better to use stamp mounts for unused stamps with undisturbed gum. Particularly for higher valued stamps.

I mount all of my MNH (mint never hinged) stamps and all stamps of value. Actually I have not used hinges for many years (many !!!). The cost.....well if the stamps are worth it, so do the mounts and your pages will look very nice.
I will show you one from New Brunswick, Canada -

....since I have added varieties to my page and re-done it !

Hi @dudley
Thanks you for this valuable information.

Hi @ekbustad
Thanks for your reply and information.

Hi @Renden
Your example is very nice. That's exactly what I was asking. Thanks for your reply and a nice attachment to the album sheet page.

Summary:
Therefore, it is necessary to preserve individual stamp if the MNH (ie. Not used) and has a preserved sticky gum behind.

Thanks guys,
Best regards to all.
