So in the third stamp, these marks are normal for this printing ?,

Dynamode,
Beyond my knowledge.
To me it looks like viscous ink, perhaps sheets were laid on top.

To answer your query, you need a specialist whom pore over these issues.
There are collectors out there with hundreds of them.

Or, they may be listed in Brusden White...I do not have specialist catalogues for States other than Western Australia.

Ok thanks.

Hopefully one of the specialists will spot it and all will be revealed.

I am in no hurry.

Hi Dynamode,

I've handled so many of the 5d over the years and they're not uncommon showing overinking. The 5d diadem holds the world record for longest use of a printing plate.

The paperfold is a nice piece of eye candy but they're not rare on large diadems.

Thanks Bobby De La Rue.

I was convinced this was a misplaced entry. Mainly because the marks look very similar to the design right of the white area.

If it was Canadian, it would have been on its way to Ralph long ago.

But I know the early Aussie stamps have all sorts of strange inking flaws, that are deemed normal. So put it here first.

Do you think I should make a new post for the paper fold. Its got a bit buried here. I am getting some good comments on the French paper fold I put up yesterday.

Maybe we could ask the mods to retitle the French one and have a topic for paper folds?

Hi Matthux,

They both need a good wash. You have a 1d De La Rue with a part Bathurst duplex cancel and a 2d NSW Centenary with a part Sydney duplex cancel.

Your 2d Blue is genuine, (Leaf under "W" of NEW ) without leaf, a forgery.
