Argentina National Parks October 27, 1990 Laguna Blanca National Park is located in the west of the province of Neuquén. The park was created to protect the lagoon and particularly the population of black-necked swans ( Cygnus melancoryphus). April 4, 1992 Laguna de los Pozuelos National Park is located in the northwest of the province of Jujuy. The lake is know for its great variety of waterfowl and large population of James's Flamingo ( Phoenicoparrus jamesi).  |

Iceland EUROPA - Nature Reserves and Parks May 20, 1999 Skutustadagigar are pseudocraters at the southern shore of Lake Myvatn. They were formed by gas explosions when boiling lava flowed over the wetlands. The wetlands are preserved and are popular for birdwatching.  |
